In a move that caught those in the IT industry off guard, parent company Vigilar has closed the doors of its Intense School. This educational training facility located Atlanta, Georgia was formerly one of the top choices for those seeking a wide variety of certifications in the IT field, particularly in areas of computer security protocol and network administration. The school also had a substantial presence in Dulles, a city that is a major hub of the blossoming tech industry in Northern Virginia. Those students seeking focused training are still able to train with CED Solutions, Academy of Computer Education (ACE) or The Training Camp – each of these institutions offering the accreditation needed for further advancement in the field Intense School catered to.

Due to the sudden closing of Intense School, some students in the Atlanta area will most likely migrate to CED Solutions which is located less than five miles from Vigilar’s former training facility. In the Dulles area, ACE is expected to be the primary choice since it is located in Northern Virginia and in close proximity to Washington D.C. where many government operations hire IT professionals. Training in A+, Network+, Security+, CISSP, ECSA and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) are all crucial to many employers of IT professionals so these schools will be expected to fill the void that Intense School leaves in its wake.

As a whole, the IT industry has proven itself to be an ever changing one so students continue to be advised to continue their education by longtime industry pros. Certification in a wide variety of study areas remains the only way to ensure career security despite industry evolution over time. Those passionate about this profession will carry on, pursue further hands on training to build their skills and find that companies continue to require those skills despite any upheaval in the market place.

When it comes time to get serious about working in the hi tech industry, if one is an IT professional committed to networking, then it is an absolute must to obtain the proper credentials by which one gets the desired positions in this field. The first certifications that must be earned are the A+ and Network+ certification (A+/Net+) because these are the essential basis upon which all other learning must be based. Being able to find a combined course is the best approach since these two specialties combine together to establish a great working knowledge of the field. This particular certification is extremely important to both entry and mid level candidates in the IT field and because of this, companies are requiring it in ever increasing numbers. No company can afford to trust its network to inexperienced hands, especially in this age of almost total digital dependence. That is why this is the first fundamental computer certification that one should pursue in order to get a leg up on other beginning workers who have not gone to such lengths.

Second, the importance of proper hardware understanding grows ever more important because in today’s changing world, all true professionals must continue to brush up their education if they want to stay not just employable, but viable in the current market. With CCNA certification, which stands for Cisco Certified Network Associate, one is granted a far deeper understanding of a variety of technologies that are relied upon daily in the IT world. Networks making use of both LAN (Local Area Network) and WAN (Wide Area Network) set ups, including those using protocols like Ethernet, Frame Relay, IP, IP RIP, Serial, VLANs, and IGRP are all studied. The best classes will offer a great deal of hands on learning since this is an area of study that requires much first hand experience in order to gain a genuine level of competency.

Finally, when an IT professional is ready to move up the ranks and become a truly valuable contributor to the computer systems security of a large company, Security+ certification is a definite requirement. Cryptography is studied, along with the basic concepts that define infrastructure, communications, and operational security. If each of these certifications are added to a professional’s resume, that person can expect to be exceptionally well treated by the employer of their choice.
